Questions About Your Project

The cost for your project varies a great deal and depends on a number of factors. In order to provide an accurate estimate I may need to ask some, all or additional questions from this list in order to determine exactly what your needs are.

Please read through the list and answer as many as possible before you seek an estimate from Tim Boyd Photography. By doing so, you will save time and we can be on the same page, so to speak, when researching an estimate.

- Who is the client? Is it you or are you .....acting on behalf of a client?
- Who is authorizing this project? Who is the .....project manager?
- What is being photographed?
- Do you have an idea for a photograph in .....mind? Is there a sketch available?
- How many photos are needed?
- Do you have a specific brand or speed of .....film requirement?
- What film format - 35mm, 6X6, 6X4.5, .....4X5, digital, color or black and white
.... negative or transparency (slide film)
- Where is the assignment? Are there any .....special travel requirements to get there?
- How many scenes are to be .....photographed? (e.g. locations at the .....shoot site)
- When do you want the project shot? Is the .....date or time flexible?
- How long is the project expected to take?
- What is your deadline for the delivery of ..the photographs?

- Do I need specialized equipment?
- Are models needed? Will you hire the .....models?

- How is the photo going to be used? (e.g. .....Web site, print, brochure, billboard, .....newsletter, annual report, on a package, .....banner, catalog cards, posters etc,) An .....image used in more than one medium is .....counted as a separate use.
- How many copies will be distributed? (e.g. .....circulation size, print run, compact disks .....pressed) How many hits? (e.g. Web site)
- How big will the photos be used and what .....color? (e.g. 1/4, 1/2 full page, inside, .....cover, color or black and white, banner, .....home page or inside page)
- How long are the photos needed for?
- Do you need exclusive rights (the greater .....degree of exclusivity the greater the .....price for the usage fee/license)
- What kind of license is needed? (one-time, .....exclusive, North American, language, .....trade publication, advertising, personal)
- Where will the photo be visible? (local, .....regional, national, international)
